Maha Kumbh Stampede in Prayagraj: 30 Dead, 60 Injured; Judicial Probe Ordered
New DIG Vaibhav Krishna, who is in charge of police stampede investigations, is quoted in the early hours of the night between 1n and 2am as saying that the incident occurred amid a massive break in the barricades, which had caused some deaths while 25 of the casualties were recognized, at least 36 victims out of 60 being among the injured and the help line number set up by the MOM: 1924

"It is sad to know that at least 30 people have lost their lives, and 60 others have been injured in the stampede at the Maha Kumbh venue in Prayagraj tragedy," said Vaibhav Krishna DIG Mahakumbh.
Several casualties of a stampede happened at the Sangam area of the Kumbh Mela accident early Wednesday (January 29, 2025) because plenty of pilgrims were in a hurry for the holy bath on the event of Mauni Amavasya.
